The Biking Blogger

"The Happy Cycler"

Or the blogging biker, whichever you prefer. Here I am on my bike at Bayfield, where I used to own a trailer...sniff...But, I'm looking ahead, NOT looking back! And soon I'll be packing up my wicker bicycle basket and heading out of town. I have to skedaddle as I have a long journey ahead of me.

A number of you responded to my last post in which I asked if I could cycle to your city as I am more motivated to keep going if I have a destination. Well, I have TEN destinations so I am going to be pedaling my hinie off!! I've decided that I am going to try to visit all of you who responded so I am going to have to take a few flights in order to do that.

It's still not too late to join in my journey. If you see me getting close to where you live let me know. Also, if you agree, I will post my email so you can contact me - I'll ask you a few questions, sort of like an informal interview, and post your responses on my blog. No pressure, up to you!

I haven't figured out the mileage yet, that'll be my next step. Like I did last year I'll post my progress in my sidebar. I'm going to start off by heading to Warren PA first, then Harrisburg PA, Centreville VA, NE Ohio (late addition), down to Central Florida, west to Houston Texas, north to Antioch IL, waaaaay west to Lewiston, Idaho, zip up to Vancouver BC, fly east to Toronto, ON where I'll have my last visit, then back home to London, ON.

Yikes! What have I gotten myself into?

I wonder where I'll be spending Christmas??

  10. I really wish I had a place to invite you to. Seems like my end of the world would be in between a few of your tentative destinations... but hey, if you don't care for a local tourist that is as lost as a broken compass, then swing by D.C. on a weekend! I could rent a hotel room for you to stay.

  11. I'll have Fred whip you up something yummy. Or if you don't like French Food, my Mom can do Pennsylvania Dutch. Either way, I won't be cooking. m.

  15. Where have I been? Out of the loop, that's for sure! If you still need a place to land, there's a spare room and empty bed here in lovely Colorado!

You are more than welcome so keep that in mind if you need a more western course!

  16. Jane,
Isn't this so much fun riding your way around the country. I use to do this all the time but when we moved I sold my bike I'm think of getting another one for Christmas so I'll be in shape for the Spring. The company will also pay $100.00 towards any exercise equipment.
Are you going to pick-up any souvenirs on the way? Are you also going to use different colour pins or stickers for when you have reached your destinations. I'm thinking of all the great fun you can have while giving you inspiration to peddle your buns off and lose weight also. What a win win situation.
