Not Quite There Yet

Still haven't gotten back into the blogging groove completely, but I'm working on it. With Michael working til 5:30 everyday and me picking him up our evenings are so much shorter (he used to pick me up around 2:30!) We make dinner, sit with our laptops for an hour or two, then jump into bed and watch a movie (borrowed FREE from the library). (Oh yes, and I biked for an hour first before jumping into bed.)

So last night I spent my computer time catching up on your posts and I bet now that there's still more to catch up on. So here I am at 6:30am typing? computing? keyboarding? away to let you know how things are going.

The first couple of weeks, more like the first couple of months, of school I work very long days. I have new IEPs to create, old ones to update, grants to apply for, new software to learn, new technology to learn (Smartboard) and so on. I don't mind doing that stuff (I'm a lifelong learner!) but it is time consuming.

So I hope over the next week or two I find my rhythm, my groove, and can figure out a routine of work, exercise, family time and blogging, not necessarily in that order. I'm sure it'll all sort itself out. Time will tell.

Good news: I've lost 4 lbs.  Yay! 14 lbs to go!! I've never been more motivated! Michael likes his new job. Yay!  It's not raining today (yet). Yay!

Bad news: can't think of any. Yay!

  2. Good for you! 4 lbs is significant!I've lost 3 and now I've stalled...Ugh.

My daughter is student teaching and she leaves the house at 7:30 a.m. and doesn't get home until 6:00 p.m. (Her school is only 5 minutes away, so she is spending all that time at the school!) It's a lot of work to plan, so I understand your long days!

Glad there is no bad news! :)!

  3. Jane,
I know what you mean when both of you are working longer hours, there isn't many hours left in the day when you finally come home.
Eventually you will get into the groove of how to better manage the time you have for fun stuff.
I have had to cut down on computer time so I can enjoy riding my bike more and making pickles for gifts this Christmas.
I have three weeks vacation right now and the time is flying by. You must find it hard to return to work after 2 months off.
Glad Michael is enjoying his new job.

  4. I am so glad you are back, although I enjoyed your PEI posts. I am happy Micheal likes his job. Starting to get back into the swing myself, I think.

  5. I'm finding it so hard to keep up with all the blog reading too...but I'm determined by the w/end to be up to date.

  6. Niki: don't have the smartboard yet, for some reason the schoolboard can't find a big enough truck though I've seen them and they aren't THAT huge. But I've been busy researching and checking online resources and going for PD so when it finally arrives I'll be ready. I think I will indeed LOVE IT!
