BRACE YOURSELVES

First of all the snow has receded just enough to see dead brown frozen solid GRASS!!!

Second of all (drum roll please........) my snowdrops are making an appearance!!! Never mind that they are growing where the warm air from the dryer is vented - IT'S NEW GROWTH!! IT'S GREEN for St. Paddy's Day!! The earth isn't dead after all!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Third of all, I'm hooked on Downton Abbey....so see ya!!

  4. The early flowers--this is what Thoreau talks about, spring coming early in places. I have these little microclimates in my yard, usually near large rocks that hold the sun's heat for the night. I love finding the odd flower in blossom when the same thing in another area of my yard is not ready to bloom for weeks.

  7. "Life will find a way." Glad to see you guys are seeing signs of it. We got sunshine today for about 10min, and about 3min yesterday. Vitamin D deficiency is at all-time highs!

  8. Congrats on the dirt and snowdrops. I am seriously envious. In normal years we don't get them til midMay and with this snow and more coming, it could be June. I am delighted to hear of your love for smarties. I have been in love with them forever, and no, M&Ms are NOT the same thing.
