Today's photos were taken on hiking adventures outside of London Sunday and today. I just can't get enough of the colours, the flowers, the blue skies, the green green grass, any and all indications of spring. My poor seester and friends in PEI and NB are still fighting the good fight with fresh snow fall recorded today - I'm so sorry!!
These horses were so frisky but they still managed to calm down enough to come to the fence for a quick nose rub.
FORSYTHIA!!
May apples
Trout lilies
An eagle soaring overhead!!
Skunk cabbage - I think it's very pretty to look at :)
Bloodroot
C'mon...open up - you can do it!
What a fantastic tree trunk!!
Not sure...
And one more trillium blooming. In a few more days the woods will be filled with thousands of white and red trilliums in bloom.
I'll be heading back!!
It always seems like a miracle when plants are still alive after winter. I'm feeling so sorry for the PEI gang. Did I jinx it when I said we wanted to retire there?!

ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see things growing... All that's growing here are mounds of dog poo... and the streams and rivers are growing too! we're getting rain, rain and more rain... The heat is still on... More pic's please!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the pictures of spring blooms! I also think skunk cabbage is really pretty, and so GREEN!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I'm in NB where it's still grey, brown, and wet. Hopefully spring will arrive soon!
Welcome Marcelle! I have a couple of friends in NB so have lived their terrible winter through them - it's been a doozy!
ReplyDeleteMy heat is still on too though there are a few hours in the day when it doesn't kick in. Still pretty cold at night though things are looking up for the weekend. The lack of colour really sucks after 6 months doesn't it??
ReplyDeleteI knew what you meant! :) Thanks for visiting!!
ReplyDeleteDid you see they broke the record for most snow over the winter!?! Not a record you really want to break!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Toronto and I remember how excited we would be when the forsythia started to bloom. Just seeing your picture makes me smile. I've lived in Georgia for over 30 years and I still miss the spring and fall ... but never the winter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! They make me want to get out of the city and go hiking.
