My new nail is slowly making an appearance...just a tiny crescent so far...
It doesn't hurt at all. I was getting down onto my yoga mat when I accidentally caught my toenail and it bent backwards and popped off. No humans were injured in the loss of this toenail.
No pain but it still looks kinda gross. I guess it's part of the recuperation process.
*This was the toenail that had a blister in behind it pushing up the nail. Who knew hiking could be so dangerous!?!
Oh, I've seen worse. That wasn't gross at all. I think I've seen it when one of my kids dropped something heavy on their toe. Hematoma (or something) turned it black; eventually came off; new skin and new nail growing underneath. Glad you've got a new nail! (First world problems, right?"
